Looking for new properties to hunt ferals in qld

Hi all,
this might be a long shot but I am looking to see if anyone knows if there are any properties to do some hunting on. We hunt pigs on a large property 140,000 Sq Acres just out side of Charlerville every 3-4 months. It is a great property but would also like to hunt (ferals) closer to Brisbane as a 10hr plus drive to Charlerville does not allow us to do short break hunting trips.

Hi Ian

There are quite a few places to hunt ferals closer to Brisbane... I am in Brisbane and we go hunting down near Goondiwindi quite a bit. Also - do your "R" liscence and you can hunt all you want in the state forests along the NSW brder for free ! If youre a member of SSAA then do the liscence there its only $15 - well worth it! Lever actions rule in the thick stuff ... 45-70 and 30-30 makes short work of most ferals...

Hi Moofy, Nah, not only for the cockroaches... us bananna benders can write the exam and apply for the R liscence too .... Join SSAA and then you can do it through them for a mere $15. Currently you can only hunt the NSW forests but they are only a stones throw from Brissy if you head south... Its way closer than Surat or St George where i have been going ... also, it free to book and hunt in the forests!! Plenty of goats, pigs and even deer!

The exam is a joke - in fact its an open book type test and the examiner will tell you if you get something wrong so you can fix it before it is submitted....

I believe they may open our state forests to R liscence holders soon too...

This is a hot topic on the news at the moment in NSW, if you think the exam is a joke, which it isn't, you should not voice your opinion. All you are doing is giving the extreme greenies more ammunition.....

Hi Leverlad I am a member of the SSAA so next time I am at the range I will ask about it.
