    Savage barrels on xl7/sx7

I have a 25-06 & 30-06 savage barrels that will not thread into the marlin action but have a savage 308 that will fit.
any one else tried this yet.

So far I have not had a prob in putting a Savage in a Marlin.

Are they both the same thread size?
    Will it even start ?

Dangerous Dan put a 22-250 barrel on one of my XS-7's before Marlin brought out that chambering. Shoots sweet! DP

You think maybe the threads are buggered up some?
I pulled a savage barrel the other day and it had some kind of thread locking dope on the threads. So bad that I almost didn't get the nut off the barrel. After cleaning it up... no problem.

Will it even start to screw on?

There are a lot o Savage barrels that have tight flat threads on them . As Ray said also gunk or threadlocker on the nut . Clean them up and work the nyt back and forth with lube . Hope this helps DD
