I recently went out hunting with my wife's brother and I really enjoyed shooting his Marlin XL7 rifle. So, I have decided to purchase one for myself. I have a limited budget since I am a teacher. Where might I look to buy a XL7 .270 stainless? I want the cheapest price possible. Thanks.
Why stainless if you want the cheapest price possible? Why not just get a blue one?
I traded a Remington model 7400 even swap at my local gun shop for my 30-06 XLR.

I'm not dead set on the stainless. I can go with the blue or stainless. Any suggestions on places to buy? I live in Memphis, Tn. However, I'm not opposed to buying online. Thanks.
Check the GunBroker.com listings for Bud's Gun Shop. They have XL7s in blued steel with synthetic stocks for $275.00.
Got mine on galleryofguns.com. Very easy. Just find the shop closest to you with the cheapest price.
prolly the cheapest you'll find it

Its hard to beat Buds. They have free shipping.
Marlin 4 + 1 270 Winchester/22" Blued Barrel & Black Synthet $291.00 SHIPS FREE
If you want a stainless X gun, hurry and get one, as they are not in the 2012 catalog.
I used to not have a preference on stainless or blued. Then I got my son a stainless 270 out of a pawn shop. Now after hunting with him in the wet weather, I'm sold on the stainless guns. Way easier to clean when you get in out of the snow and rain. So much so that when he and my wife went to get an xl-7 for me, they got it in stainless and I'm happy they did.
As far as where to buy in Memphis, no idea but keep you options open on the stainless and decide for yourself if you think it is worth it.
I found mine at the WalMart on Germantown Parkway, but I don't know if they carry them any more
