Today I became a blasphemer. Could not pass up this deal. The salesman looked twice at the price and called management for confirmation.

I bought a Stevens 22-250 26" heavy barrel with bases, rings and scope for $259 NIB. It's the flimsy grey stock. Last year's stock and a package deal put together for the vendor but at this price I could not pass it up. That was $240 less than the hang tag.

Yep sounds like a deal to me! You should do us a thread on your new rifle in the General off topic section or the rifle section. Lot of folks here interested in more rifles other than the X7 series .DT

I'll get some pics up soon. I spent a lot of time on the Savage Shooters site while Marlinowners was down. Turns out that you can find a Stevens 200 in 7mm08 or 270 for $179 at Academy on your very best day. Can't find much on the Stevens 22-250 like this one with the 1.00" bull barrel, not the heavy sporter or tapered heavy varmint so I think I did OK.

The actions go for $150. Savage factory barrels $30-$50. The Simmons AO scope is at least $50 and I wanted a cheaper AO scope for 22 mag anyway.

If it shoots well I'm golden. Midway just put Privi 22-250 on sale which has very good accuracy and reload reviews on the varmint webs sites. It's Karma.
