I am really looking forward to this new venture by Marlin Firearms Co..
I think it's long over due.. the MR-7 was a super find bolt and this one should be even better..

I was kinda hoping they would bring back the .356 with Hornady tipped bullets. 22" barrel whata gun that would be, probably better all the 30-06 spec's and come close to 35whelen. What a dreamer I am.

Your not the only one dreamin about that.
As for the XL7, I hope they do well with so much compatition. I am sure that there will be a short action verzion of the XL7 in a few years. It would be a good platform for a 450 marlin. Maybe marlin would also chamber the new 300 and 338 RCM.

They should chamber one in 308 marlin express! However, I don't think that this new bolt action will be the best thing for them, since the market is already flooded with inexpensive bolt guns. What Marlin needs to do is to look into making a better slug gun, as this is a growing market that is being underserved. Most slug guns sold today are shotguns altered to shoot slugs. What is needed is a slug shooting shotgun that handles like a rifle, has a good mounting system for a scope, a nice recoil pad, and a good trigger. There is no reason that this could not be offered for a reasonable price.

But this bolt will be USA made.. If the price's are what is being listed.. I will have to spring for one

If its anything like its predacessor ( the MR-7), it'll be a rather boring, but very accurate bolt action borrowing on some of the positives from all of the bolt actions you can think of. I'd have to have a 204 or at least a coyote hunting caliber to buy one. Don't need another bolt deer gun since we got our 308's. :P

6pt-Sika,
Absolutely the gun is made here in the U.S. They are coming out of the North Haven plant.
They look good to me. There are never enough good USA bolt guns at decent price. I think Marlin is Spot on.
