If FGI/Remington started making quality Marlins, would you buy them?

I have been wondering where the discontent lies in all of this. Is it the way FGI fubar'ed everything imaginable and treated the former gun builders in Connecticut, or is it just about the quality, and if suddenly they decided to get their head out (of the sand) and devote resources to making good on quality, would you buy them?

I have yet to make up my mind.. Some days when I read how completely disrespectful they were with the old crew I never want to buy another new anything from them, but other days a quality built 39a or stainless .357 really calls out to me.. I know I can buy used on GB, but I don't like buying sight unseen with someone I can't look in the eye before handing my money over..

I will have to think about it

I have no ill feelings towards Remington, the brand. A hand full of individual businessmen orchestrated the takeover of Marlin and proceeded to make drastic changes that devistated lives and diminished a fine firearms company. My feelings are more along the line of disappointment, not anger.

If Marlin would miraculously turn around and restore quality, I probably wouldn't buy a new one. I'm hooked on the tradition and the heritage of Connecticut-built JM Marlins. Guess I fall smack in between your poll options.

I can't answer the Poll as the questions are written. They are slanted to determine a outcome...It's not that I hate Remington, I just don't trust them right now.
It's going to take a lot of time and If I'm Lucky I only have about 40 years left to live..(Don't take that bet)...

Well, I voted but hit the wrong dang button...I will not buy another FGI made Marlin rifle period. All of my future Marlin purchases will be JM stamped guns.

The only Remington made gun I would buy is a 7600 carbine other then that I would not purchase a lever gun from them.

Yep, after I put that poll out I wanted to make a third option of "maybe", but this new platform doesn't seem to allow changing the poll. So anyway, just trying to find out where the sentiment lies. I hear a lot of people saying they will never buy a new Marlin and just wondering if it is the quality issue, or something more to do with Remington and its owners..

Yes I would buy one or more if they would raise their standards up, and I mean way up.

I would have not problem purchasing a new Marlin if Remington were producing lever actions, just like Marlin of old.

I don't hate Remington, it's a corporation and regardless of what the SCOTUS said, a corporation is not a person, it's a business entity run be people, some of whom are slime sucking scumbags who qualify as hateable. Like the Cerebus/Freedom Group who drive the policies of Remington Firearms Corp. And I will buy more Marlins, just those with the JM stamp on them. As to buying if the quality comes back, only if they make something that can't be found in the old guns. Like a run of 7x30 Waters, or 7mm Shooting Times Easterners. There are enough Marlins and for that matter enough Remingtons in the used gun market to keep us all happy till we're long past any concerns other than, will we make it to the next bathroom in time? Really, the time is past to concern ourselves with bad feelings, it's time to get on with the process of buying Marlins before the price goes into the stratosphere. And buying some extra ammo and components might not be such a bad idea either as Greece could happen here.
