Kon, I'd say that they've done quite the job of destroying Marlin.Originally Posted by KON

357 Magnum For when you just absolutely, positively have to shoot something.
I hate to say it guys,,,but Ill bet you Marlin will be "History" before the end of next year.
When it comes down to whats going on,,,,it does not look good. There is a lot more negative than there is positive.

yeah i agree with what you guys have said. it does seem like marlin was the casualty investors from Remington cutting loose the slower moving, harder to make guns.
and its true those business type investor people have no idea the iconic brand they are destroying, and all the people that are devoted. this forum is a good example@!
i was at a gunshow today in victoria, bc, and i was talking to a few smiths there... i told them the story of the 49 defective units from the bigbox store being sent back to remington. They said by the time any of the 2011 marlin levers were available here, remington already knew they were defective, and didnt send them. So the only ones for sale in bc were last years model, some JM some REP. (barrel stamp)
im glad i got a stainless one, because im hanging on to this rifle forever. Mine seems to work fine, and has cleaner cuts inside the breach then some other levers i looked at of similar era.
maybe i post some pics of some detail, but ive sent a few hundred rounds thru it and not one hic-up yet.
beautiful gun.
anyway, its good to hear some other perspectives.

Guys I have a friend and he's always saying" hard sayin not knowin"yes he is a comic.
Well money gets made by posting losses. I have seen buyouts that looked like losses on tax forms, but because of the need to show a loss, the strategy is a net gain. To a point Sorro's networking in politics might get a big yield politically by eliminating a American gun company. He is a savie insider and a loss now my yield a bigger yield in the future. Maybe one not motivated by $$. Yes Remington may have lost their shorts...but with lawyers and accountants analyzing short term, long term payoffand lobbyist on the inside working in and around politicians...You and I will have to wait and see how they did and what they did.

Looks like it's all over, buy up yer old Marlins and let it rest. It will rise again like the Phoenix and Harley Davidson.

If Remington came clean and fixed the problem they would be forgiven by most. I let Remington know I will hold them accountable for trashing Marlin. Told them I'll never buy another Remington if they let Marlin die.

Actually, they had the right people, right there in North Haven and they axed them through their own arrogance and ignorance. They could never get them back now, that bridge has been torched!Originally Posted by Leadnut
