I knew it was boogered when i bought it--- for cheap. But to find 2 of these craters in the barrel really makes me wonder what kind of people are out there.. They must have dented the tube, shortened it, and then grabbed the grinder to make a new hole in the barrel.. Then, another crater (pic) is where the forend screw goes through.. The hole measures .075 deep... not good... doubt if I'll fire this one... Let me know what ya think...

How far up the barrel are the craters? Is it possible to shorten the barrel or would it then be too short? Shame that someone does that to a firearm.

Too bad they didn`t get on this forum first, & see how easy it is to take a dent out of the tube. As Marlinjunkie said Can you shorten the barrel?? 444
this is a 20" barrel and the hole is where the front forend band screw goes through.. If i were to cut it, it would be an 8", 30-30, and my shoulder wouldn't take that at all..there is another hole 3/4 way up the barrel. A guy could fill that one or make it a 3/4 tube with a 3/8" dovetail stud..
just worried that the first hole is too deep to fire it...

No problem marlin model 93... You bought a project gun. Make it like original, or Make it a one of a kind
How about a 26" octagon barrel and a tube extension and a new Parkerized type finish![]()
