I guess he's the only veteran in this country too.
    Aim Small.. Hit Small

What matters is marksmanship, shot selection, and bullet construction (mass, diameter and expansion behavior). These are things that don't tend to be found in ballistics tables

357 Magnum For when you just absolutely, positively have to shoot something.

At least he has a rifle that is original I believe, but the rest falls under the old maxim, 'buy the gun, not the story". I am actually kind of surprised to not learn that the gun was owned by J. Edgar Hoover or some such famed outlaw of the era. Or that might be a redundant statement.

An alleged statement....no clue as too the veracity....

During his 1956 presidential campaign, a woman called out to Adlai
Stevenson: "Senator, you have the vote of every thinking person!"
Stevenson called back: "That's not enough, madam, we need a majority!"

Go ahead and email him about the D&T'd barrel. I'm sure he'll post another 3000 word diatribe about it being factory, special order, for the doctor.

I bet that he has a $5000 reserve on this thing. Another thing I will bet you that isn't the original stock, it just doesn't look right. But then he did buy a book.
And he says he talked to the people at Marlin or might that be at Remlin This is right up there with that Gold plated 1891, not quit, but close.
