I am new to Marlin rifles and have a couple lever guns. I am not real comfortable with purchasing the Remington Marlin rifles just yet.
There is a gunshop in my area that has a display rack with about 8 New Haven Marlin rifles at real reasonable prices. One is the large loop 16" 45/70 blued lever gun ($650) and the other I am interested in is the .44 mag Octagon barrel cowboy rifle ($840). Are these desirable rifles since they are true Marlin New Haven guns?
Haven't seen any signs yet of people getting premiums or used pre Rem. Marlins yet. I would suppose it may happen, just as pre '64 Winchesters get premiums because of better quality parts internally.
