It is strictly a quess, but if you average 1250 a year. It would put yours a 1895-96. There are no actual records so that is about as close as I can get.

They made about 15000 of the 2nd variation that you have. But I would say depending on condition anyware from $300-$600. I have see them in the $800-$900 range, but you would have to find someone who really wanted one. If it was engraved, I have seen them in the $1200+ range.

I am not sure if you can call me an expert. I own the one and kinda keep track of the ones I see from time to time, on sale.
But I will see what I can do. First, I can't tell for sure by the picture, is the finish nickel plated or is it blue? The blued ones are less common and are worth more.
Also is the finish pitted on the end of the barrel? Also how dos the inside of the barrel look?

I will see if I can come up with some parts breakdowns of the Marlin and the S&W double action. You might be able to use some the S&W parts. I know the main spring work, but haven't looked into any others yet.

    Thank you very much.
I looked at Numrich gun parts but unfortunately they have no parts for this Marlin Revolver.
and the S & W top brek parts that could fit are all sold out.

Ok here are some breakdowns of both the S&W and the Marlin. There is one place show on one of the S&W pics that might have some parts. Hopefully these can help. Let us know if there are more parts that can interchange. The S&W parts might be close enough, were you can make them work, other that that you will need to find a parts gun. Never seen one, but check e-bay,Gunbrokers,Ect.

And here is a link to another sight, were they have a S&W taken apart.S&W .38 Double Action Revolver Question - The Firearms Forum - Gun Community
