Anybody here get to hunt the special Lowndes WMA hunt from March 1st thru this Saturday? I was hoping to go, but as usual things came up. Anyone do any good there? Have a good hunt?
I was told that it goes through the 14th.
Can you show me where you get your info from.
A few of us on another forum were planning a trip down there Saturday for a Sunday hunt.
I will ask them where the info is also.
I'm sorry you are correct the one for Lowndes does end on the 10th. We are planning the black worrior,Sipsey area.
Xd shooter what are the dates for the Black Worrior, Sipsey area. I live in Prattville and would like to go if I could get off work. And the most hogs in the Lowndes are on the South Road. But you will wont some snake boots it real thick in there.
Is that the same Lowndes that was involved in all the recruiting violations at Bama a few years back? Bobby Lowndes or something like that?

So, how was the Black Warrior hunt? It is actually closer for me than Lowndes. Maybe I'll be ablt to try one or the other next year. I will ask...I'm having some hip problems, therefore can't go as well or as far as I used to. Which of the two is easier to hunt.
OK, RickinTN, XD Shooter, TC Rocker...yall know more about this Lowndes (Lowndes County Alabama?) WMA hunt than I do and I'm just an hour & half up the road! That is if it is Lowndes Co, AL. I have found that there are numbers of counties with the same name in different states. If you go, good luck. Hey, where are yall from? I have yet to bloody my GG on a hog. Got two in one day with my 375 two years ago on private land. My opinion, wild pigs are best just ground whole hog into sausage.
I don't live far from Lowndes, was there just the other day actually. While I've never hunted the management area, I've been in it and heard lots of great things about the hunting. I know there are lots of hogs and nice deer in there. There are some nice campgrounds nearby to stay in if you have a trailer too. Getting around in the Lowdes WMA can be rough, it's thick if you get off the beaten path and like tcrocker said, you'll definitely want some snake boots.
Looks like there's a few of us on here from the area.
