    Blackhawk.....rate the deal???

Came across a 2010 model year Blackhawk SS in 4 5/8 bbl, .44 mag, never fired, new in box. asking price was 500.00 plus shipping. What are the opinions out there on this deal (I was kind of more interested in a Redhawk SS in .44 7 1/2 brl.

I have the same gun that I bought used for $425. It is 1992 date of manufacture, but LNIB. My favorite revolver.

Two years ago I picked up a 5 1/2 inch stainless 44 mag like new for $375 and love it. I think it's a happy medium between the 7 1/2 and 4 5/8. From what I have been told, some states require a 5 inch barrel to hunt with so I usualy stay at least that long in hunting calibers. I've been tempted by a standard (not super) redhawk in stainless as well. I really like them in the 5 1/2 inch barrel too. Good handling and looking revolver for sure. For not much more than the 500 for that blackhawk you can find the Super Blackhawk Hunters used in like new shape for about 600 from time to time. It has the 7 1/2 inch barrel you are looking for, can be had in a bisley or plow handle grip frame and can attach a low power scope if you like. Just my ramblings...

First, they're really nice guns. Mine has a longer barrel, but the shorter one may be
more useful. The stainless is great looking. My local gun shop had a used one for 399 last month. It was in great shape and didn't last long. That price is kind of high in my opinion for a used one, but fair enough for a new one. If you can live with pre owned and you're patient, you should be able to save a few bucks.

In my post I was thinking about a redhawk in 44 mag but yes, they have come in different calibers over the years in at least 45 LC, 357, and possibily 41 mag if I remember right.
