Can anyone out there help me.
I have just started my collection of handguns.
Bought my first example of a Belgian British Bulldog.
60% of the nickel gone, rough bore otherwise OK.
Missing the trigger return spring.
As this is not really a collectable example of this pistol i have decided to attempt a complete restore.
Spoken to a firm out here who will remove the rest of the old nickel and then copper plate the gun followed by a new nickel silver finish.
I am looking into having the bore drilled and a liner put in.
I will replace all the springs with new ones made from modern material.
My only problem so far is that I do not have a trigger return spring to model a new one on.
I have searched the internet for days now looking for an expoded diagram of these pistols. No luck.
My one is in 38 S&W but I am guessing this spring would be similar in the .44 versions and the .32 versions.
Does anyone out there have one of these pistols and can show me the trigger retun spring, or does anyone have a schematic of this marque.
My aim is to restore this to as close to looking factory new as possible. I will then use it a centrepiece to any others i collect.
Any help will be appreciated. I have brought the book by George Layman and it is very informative but doesnt have any schematics.

Pictures to be inserted tonight as work will not allow me to upload.
Also I have discovered that the following book had exploded diagrams of the Forehand & Wadsworth British Bulldog
Gun Digest 2011 Book of Revolvers Assembly/Disassembly
If anyone has this book would it be possible to scan the above section and e-mail it to me. I have put an order in for this book but it will take a few weeks to arrive.

Chris, this isn't what you're asking for, but I've had good luck over the years with this stuff by figuring out the likely diameter of the spring, the length of the area if spans, then adding 30-50% to the length to get a handle on what I need........then I go looking for it.
Springs out of ball point pens have solved several problems, that's the first place I look for a good spring!
You must be really desperate for a project, or you really like that gun...........it sure is going to be a challenge to get it perking again!
I know I don't need to say this, but take lots of pictures before and during the process. Watching it all come together is really cool.
"The gun has been called the great equalizer, meaning that a small person with a gun is equal to a large person, but it is a great equalizer in another way, too. It insures that the people are the equal of their government whenever that government forgets that it is servant and not master of the governed." (Ronald Reagan)

PJ its a combination of both. I really like those ugly little guns. I have a fascination for the odd.
I am also bored. Spent the last 6 years rebuilding a Remington Rolling Block (Swedish) from just the receiver. Just waiting for a buttplate and it will be finished (maybe).
These butt ugly pistols deserve love also.
