    A good day

:Had a good time this afternoon after work. One gun, my 4" GP100, one target at about 12 yds and a couple hundred cast 38spl. Cast bullet was a 155gr rcbs sec with 3.8gr of Unique. Time to clean the Ruger.IMG_20170412_185520078.jpg

Good job, but that target reminds me of my range qualification for my Texas CHL a number of years ago. The instructor chose to stand in the middle of the line which turned out to be right behind me. After about 20 rounds he stepped up to me and said... "Son, you're going to want to spread them out a little if you expect me to be able to count/score that target."

It doesn't matter how much I shoot my DA hits are always high and right.

I qualify at a local place that has a retired FBI Firearms instructor doing the qualification courses. At my last shoot he scored the guy next to me first, who was barely keeping them on a B-27 at 7 yards, much less 15 and 25. There were fourteen shots that never hit paper, and the instructor told him he'd have to re-shoot the course. Then he stepped over to my lane, looked at my target at said "one, two, three, fifty. You're good." When my neighbor protested the "unfair" standard of scoring, the instructor looked him in the eye and said, "Sir, I have watched this man shoot for several years, and I believe the only reason they're not all in the same hole is because he likes to make me waste my time trying to count them. When you can shoot like he does I'll treat you the same way."

    There were no further protests.

I saw that same instructor today, and told him I'd be there next month for a required 16-hour course. He rolled his eyes, feigned a heart attack, and moaned about how God hates him as he staggered back downstairs. (I tend to throw out a lot of question about physics, anatomy, and stuff way above his pay grade, to spice up the classes a bit.) I know he enjoys the back-and-forth more than he lets on, but he acts like I'm pulling out his fingernails every time I ask a question, and when other attendees ask questions he often makes me answer them.

I'm really looking forward to this idiotic class. (Sarcasm emoji not found.) We are only allowed to carry semi-autos that don't have safeties, and yet the local gubmint says we have to have SIXTEEN hours of training to learn how to work a magazine-fed revolver. At roughly six times the cost of revolver training. Bloody genius.

A magazine fed revolver? Wouldn't that be a Gatling gun? Kinda hard to conceal though.
