I've been looking at the Lipsey Ruger Blackhawk 45LC for since they come out and when they finally offered it with a 4 5/8 barrel that was enough to push me over the edge... Now to get a good holster and maybe a good set of stag grips (I will have to admit, the white/ivory grips are growing on me though). It also has a 45 ACP cylinder as well... I have not shot it yet but hopefully one day this week that will change!

Festus, that's really gorgeous! I've never been a single-action guy but if I still lived in the boonies I'd be thinking pretty hard about that exact gun...........or maybe one in 44 Special. I think those grips look pretty sharp, if they fit your hand I'd let them stay!
"The gun has been called the great equalizer, meaning that a small person with a gun is equal to a large person, but it is a great equalizer in another way, too. It insures that the people are the equal of their government whenever that government forgets that it is servant and not master of the governed." (Ronald Reagan)

Nice Ruger - - BUT ITS NOT STAINLESS !!
I took the white pearl grips off my Ruger Blackhawk .45LC and prefer the real wood original Walnut grips on it - I am just a WOOD guy . . but then I came across these Hogue Custom grips at the LGS and I really love the look and handling stability of them. Obviously not the WESTERN look but they sure are functional. Everybody says the Blackhawk grips are too small as compared to the Bisely grips but these Hogue grips are longer and lets you keep all the fingers on the grips.
Grips are what makes a gun stand out I believe - same gun but quite a difference in appearance with the different grips.......

I actually preffered the the blued version. I have several stainless handguns and have nothing against them but just wanted this one in blue... The finish on this handgun is about the deepest bluing I've ever seen on a Ruger product handgun or rifle (the photo above is straight out of the box not even wipped off). Ruger seems to be moving in the right dirrection with quality control...
Here are the new grips for my Ruger Blackhawk .41 Mag. Walnut and Blued Steel.
