    Ross Beard's Collection - gun museum ...

We all know big collectors I'm sure. That's because we are all collectors, of some sort, in our own way.

I've known Mr. Beard for awhile, every since he decided to send some of his collection to the State Military Museum in Columbia. I used to stop by and see him on my way out to Sumter to visit Jim Montalbano's gun shop ... another old guy who has collected, and sold, firearms his entire life.

Anyways, Ross Beard has decided to turn his collection into a museum in Camden, and from what he says I don't think he is even going to reclaim his collection the State Museum now displays - even though that collection is on loan to the State Museum and he never relinquished rights to that other collection ... smart man.

Here's a very short video of what I am talking about - and I was wondering, if you have any sort of private collection on display near you that you've ever thought of contributing to in you will?

What a great guy...makes me want to go visit him. I could have smacked that interviewer for not letting him describe why that Luger was "extremely rare". Could it have been one from the Army trials of the .45 ACP contenders? ARRRGH!!
