Marlin Lever Takedown Screw - Cleaning Made Easy!!!

Here is a pretty cool new item. It is a knurled thumbscrew that will replace the factory slotted screw that retains the lever in your post WWII Marlin Lever Action Centerfire Rifles. An important feature is the coin slot for tightening. Without the slot, the screw may work itself loose. It is made by AC's Weapon Enhancements and is very nice quality. They are available in semi-polished & matte blue for $21.25 including postage to the US. They will be available in hardchrome finish for the stainless steel rifles for slightly more.

Not a bad idea. I might be interested at some point in getting one to try out.

    Lew,

Other than the speed and tooless removal for cleaning, is there any other advantage this screw has? I'm thinking it's possible disavantage, being loss of tightness, might outweigh the advantages. Correct me please. Still may have to order a couple or several.

    Dave,

It does not have to be super tight, just tight enough to not fall out. I have not seen or heard of any issues so far.

I would think these would be great for some of the new remlins. I know on the sbl i had no matter how tight I tightened the screw it would always come loose and if you're in the field you don't always have a screwdriver
