I'm coming up on time to kill some coyotes in the woods; I'll be hunting a mix of open meadow and pinon, juniper, pine mix at about 6800 feet. I need some advice on an electronic call that I can activate from 75-125 yards away. . .any specific call combos (Coyote pup? Rabbit squeal?) would be excellent as well!
Thanks in advance!

With the economy the way it is, I have seen quite a few used Foxpro's for sale. I have never used them but anyone who has, swears by them. Some of their models are quite expensive.
I have mostly used mouth calls and ocassionally combined them with an older Johnny Stewart cassette caller which they don't make anymore. We used that JS caller for years in all kinds of weather and never had a problem but it did have a wired remote. I will hopefully be in the market for an electronic caller this year and will probably look in the Foxpro used market.
The rabbit and fawn calls seem to always work best for me. With any caller you buy, they will surely come with several different calls included.

I just recieved my firestorm by foxpro today! I have been using a johnny stewart preymaster for years with good results but wanted a remote control so I took the plunge. It came with 50 sounds of my choice and I can't wait to try it.At $460 including nimh rechargable batteries it's not cheap, but I heard it's the best call on the market.Anyone tried a firestorm or similiar foxpro?

I have a Foxpro, my second one. This one has the remote. I like it very much, it's the one with all of Randy Anderson's calls on it...sweet! Haven't been out this year, but hopefully soon. good luck!

I have used several electronic varmint calls in my day, but I must say that FoxPro, especially the Fury is the one I like best. They seem to have the best design, are made very well, and with great sound quality. All of the calls that I have tried for coyotes have worked at one time or another. Rabbit squeals and coyote pub calls both work excellent. http://www.bestforhunting.com/?page_id=425
I've had good luck behind my buddy's Foxpro Scorpion. They are great calls, I'll be getting my own soon since I moved away from his![]()
