It has been a very rough ride down here since late yesterday afternoon. So far we all remain safe but DAMN!
We have been on the bad side of this slow moving disaster for 24 hours now with another 10 or 12 to go.
Not feeling too good about my little slice of fishing heaven in Port Sulphur. That area has been continuously pounded with the worst of this storm for at least 24 hours. Also, this area saw a 12-14 foot storm surge and I am only 12 feet above the ground. We will see I guess.
I want to send out a big thanks for all of the well wishes and thoughts. My family and I apreciate it.
Get outta he ISAAC !!

Raindawg, glad to hear you are doing ok so far. Hopefully by this time the worst is over. Also hope that your fishing haven makes out ok too. Hope all the other MOs down there are making out ok.

I spent a few years in Florida and dodged a few hurricanes. Some we ran from, others we rode it out.
Earlier this year I was in NOLA for business and had about a half day to kill, so I drove down towards Venice. I turned back someplace once I realized it would be dark before I got back. Anyway, that doesn't seem like a place I'd want to ride out a big storm. Do most folks stay or![]()

While the wife and I LUV having the grandkids here, the other 4 extra adults we could do without
No seriously, its all good. This kinda thing makes me wonder how folks from cold climates handle cabin fever. I would seriously go NUTS !!

The worst storm we had here (for me) was Wilma. I spent half of the storm outside on the downwind side of the house drinking beer with A buddy. Could not watch the show with boarded up windows. Wife thought we were nuts!
