Reminds me of our trip there a few years back, the same port of calls. We also took the train trip, what a great time, marred only by the all the jewelery shops waiting for the cruisers. Did you get enough to eat while on board the ship. Ha Ha

Yep, we blew right past the jewelery shops, really hated the tourist trap stuff. Plenty to eat, right.....

All said I would do it again in a heartbeat.

    Scott,

Good to hear you had a great time and made it home safe. One day me and the misses will go up to Alaska with my sister and brother in law, they own property just outside Haines that they are going to build a house on.

On a side note, I am going to put together a video for you on pan lubing to show you how easy it is, I am also going to send you an updated version of my lube cutter so you can test it as well and let me know what you think of it. I was going to build a few to see if people might want to buy one.

    Take care,

    Doc

Howdy Doc, appreciate it, we sure had a great time. Wish I knew somebody building a home in Alaska; think I might get stranded there....

Your 2nd batch of boolits were waiting at the ranch when we got back from the cruise along with your lube cutter. Very interesting, I have soooo much to learn.

Four ports of call later I'm wishing we had more time and money. For those of you that dream of going to Alaska, find a way. It was breath taking. We only scratched the surface of what there was to see but what we saw was worth every penny and more. Besides that, it was the first vacation with my wife (just the two of us) since our honeymoon many years ago.

I truly envy those of you that live in that great land. I'll apologize up front because the only camera I had was my blackberry (I know, what was I thinking?). We saw so many bears, mostly black bears, mountain goats, eagles, seals and whales. My favorite was the bear next to the railroad tracks.

Wish I had more pictures of the wildlife. Most of it was viewed by binos.

Mostly the pictures are all in my mind, I will keep the memories forever.

That's funny; actually that light was from a one armed lumberjack signaling for help (looked like the mirror was clenched in his teeth and he was bobbing his head back and forth). As the train got closer we could see that a bear had him treed. As the train got even closer coming around the bend it became clear that his lumber cutting buddies had a bear suit on and were just jacking him.

Thanks for noticing my flash in the window....

I'm glad we could all live vicariously through your exploits, and thanks for posting the pictures............it's been 100+ degrees here in the midwest for a week, and those mountains sure look inviting!

I could never take a cruise like that..........well, actually I could. But I'd never come back.

    Great pix! Thanks.

Some day I'll make a cruise up the inside passage and won't be locked up in radio central on a CG Cutter.
