.429 cal 240-300 grain bullets at 950 FPS to 2200 FPS. I can defend my home or shoot brown bear. At low velocities there is no recoil so you can teach a novice to shout with it. It will shoot out to 200 yards without issue and those big cartridges are easy to load.
Well for a Marlin it would have to be the 338MX because it's a perfect balance for big game and large game.
You did say lever rifle right! Then a BLR in 30/06 or a Win. 1895 in 30/06 for the availability of ammo and the vast utility of the 30/06

I only have one walk-about bag, and thats for 45/70.
If I have to go di-di mao, it WILL be with the 1895 GG.

Well now...I choose "Stumpy" my chopped T-4, and since I make "some" of the decisions in the house, I'll choose the 30-30 for wifey.

I couldn't do it, either.
I could never give up my 39A. Nor my 336C. Nor my 1894.

A rather tough decision, without a doubt. I think it would come down to my original 336ER and my BLR/.358. Had both for a lot of years. I guess I'd just flip a coin and choose which one happened to be luckier that day.

I at first thought about going with the 44 because of IN's stupid deer hunting rules; however in the end I'll just use one of my Encores and keep the 444P.
I only have one and it is the 338mx suits me just fine. would like to have a 39a just for fun and an 1894 to match my side arm. But if i only could have one, I think i will stick with the only one i got.
