If I ever have to sell my guns.....

If I ever get to the point that I need to sell my guns, I will have an Estate auction. I went to one yesterday in a town nearby and while almost everything there was a bargain, when they got to the guns, it went completely nuts. They had an assortment of rifles and shotguns almost all of which were used and some of them used up. They had a 75 Marlin 1894 44mag that was in about 80% condition and it sold for over $600. A marlin 60 with a beat up stock and missing the front sight sold for $135 and a 1990 336 that had rust on and in the barel, with a cheap Tasco scope and see thru rings, was passing $400 when I walked away. Every gun there sold like Obama had already won and they had stopped making them. Wow.

I hear ya buddy. People seem to just lose their minds at estate sales, especially when it comes to old guns.

Did the buyers have to register with an FFL?.It's worth a few extra dollars to legaly bypass Uncle Sam.

Good point Mudpuppy. There was no FFL paperwork needed, makes me wonder if it was undesirables getting weapons. That is a little disturbing to think about. One that i meant to talk about that I forgot was a Henry Golden Boy NIB that went for $650 or so. Crazy! The only one I saw go for a fair price was a Chinese SKS that was in very good condition and had the box and all accessories except the bayonet went for right at $300, If I did not already have 2, I would have bought it.
