i know i might get shot for saying this but does anyone have this ss 30/30 mossberg if so how is the action and what kind of groups did it shoot. I have owned 3 mossberg shotguns for 30+ yrs and never had a problem they are used and abused and still work great.
If anyone has a 464 they are afraid to admit it.
I have a Mossberg 472 in 30-30. It's a great gun. In my opinion, there are several improvements to the early Marlin 336s - which it is patterned after. It never caught on with the public, however, and was only produced for a few years (mine's a 1973 model).

I haven't read anything bad about them. Looking at them in the store they are a nice solid rifle. If I didn't have a 30-30 now I would be buying one.
It is introspective, and I want to introspect.
I have a Mossberg 885 Turkey shotgun that is great and wouldn't hesitate to buy a 464 Mossberg if I didn't already have three 30 30 one Win. and two Marlins. But I do like them and at the present time it's the only affordable lever action 30 30 rifle you can buy with confidence. The Mossberg family I believe is still running the business. There is always the Henry 30 30 Blue and walnut that is made with the hunter in mind for a few dollars more M.S.R.P.* $749.95.
Personally I like the Mossberg model 41020 blue steel walnut pistol grip stock, M.S.R.P.* $535.00.
My Avatar is my brother John who left me to soon. He was 10 Y/O 1 month older than me. He took me off the Streets of Brooklyn taught me how to handle a rifle and to hunt. For his attention I would always be grateful. Rest in Peace Brother John.
I'll buy one as soon as we run out of used Marlins and I wear out th 5 30-30s I have now.
Blessed is he who expects nothing for he shall not be disapointed
Gater, you make me feel needy. I only have four. Also congratulations on the ADL. Mine is near "beater" status but it still works and is smooooooth! Good day, jack
This I-pad knows what I want to say and how to spell better than I do. Sometimes I catch it's mistakes, sometimes I don't.
cabelas has the 464 in their sale flyer for $400
I would buy a nice used Marlin for $400 or less!
Is that the new one? To me it looked kinda like a bastardized Win 94. Its basically a 94 action with a round bolt. But thats not a bad thing if you like that action. I dont so it doesn't interest me. I'd buy a Rossi though if I saw one & it looked like a good gun, or a Henry.
