    Survivor .410/45 Colt rifle

Finally arrived, my Survivor .410 / 45 Colt rifle!

Has a rifled barrel and screw-in choke for use with .410 shotgun shells. I'm familiar with the 45 Colt as I used to handload the Blackhawk revolver I once owned. Just need to dig out my load notes. I have W296, Blue Dot, Lil Gun and SR4759 powders on hand and also Hornady 300gr XTP MAG bullets. The Hornady manual shows 1300fps using W296 in a 10" barrel T/C Contender. Should be able to get 1600 to 1700 fps at the muzzle from this rifle.

    Range report to follow.

I have the exact same stock for my H&R Handy Gun II in 22 Hornet and 20 gauge. I did not like it though and went back to the original stock which feels better. The Survivor stock was lighter and I did like the storage in the stock but just could not get used to it.

I appreciate the interest. Soon as I get thru my list of "honey-doo" items I will get busy working up some loads.

Shot this little javelina at about 40 yards with a Hornady 45 grain bullet. I was surprised at the shot because it just stood there so I shot it again and it dropped, both shots were in the chest. No lungs were left when I gut it out.

That's a great collection and it takes less room.
