Something Wonderful Happened Today
We went to church as usual this Sunday, but something was different. On Saturday, Marla began to ask me questions about Jesus and Christianity. She's always had trouble dealing with the concept of the Trinity, but I explained in a way she could understand how I see the Trinity in common terms. I told her that she was one person as God is One, but she is also wife, sister and daughter, three sides of the same person. That's how I can simply explain how the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are three, but yet one. Then I asked her if she was thinking of giving herself to the Lord. She smiled and said, "Maybe." I knew then that she was just about ready to give herself to the Lord.
Came Sunday, after the service she sat with our pastor for quite a while, talking with him and he with her. When they were finished and came into the social area of the church, she approached me and said simply, "I just gave myself to the Lord." Maybe you can imagine what I felt at that moment. We hugged, and I cried a little. Then I just had to tell everyone at church, and there was joy in that little building. Everyone there had been praying for her to be saved for years, and today all our prayers were answered. Marla had gotten saved. Now, we begin our new lives together, a Christian family. Praise God in the Highest.
