Great couple of days/flea market bonanza, shooting with little bud, etc.

Life is good. Thursday took a young friend a birthday present (just turned 13). It was an H&R handi rifle in 30-30, scoped, with an extra 20 gauge barrel. He was very excited and grateful. Fri. went to flea market with wife, didn't expect to find anything interesting but came upon a fellow who had two boxes of 45 cal. Hornady rifle bullets I could use in my 2 458 Win. Mag. rifles. Asking price was $12.00 each, good price, both full 50 bullet boxes. I offered him $20.00 for both and he accepted. Then, moving down his tables, I found a Speer reloading manual I didn't have, and bought it for $5.00. Then I spied an old Pacific/Hornady three station reloading press, priced at $75.00. I told the vendor, How about taking $40.00 for the press, being as I am such a loyal, repeat customer. He laughed and said, "sure, it's yours"

Today another great day, as my buddy brought his 8 yr. old son "B" over to receive his birthday present from Olevern, a Marlin mod. 25Y single shot with a new Simmons 22 mag scope on it. He was suitable impressed and we spent about two hours shooting it and several other rimfire rifles before he got to take his new gun home.

Great deals and great job working with the youth. Now, you do realize that the address on the bottom of each page here at MarliOwners is my personal address?? You can ship that cannon to my door as an In-Kind donation and I'll even pay the freight!!!

Not a problem, you wait right by the mailbox. (Better take a snack with you, might be a while, you know how the post office is)
Been working with youth all of my adult life. Love to take them dirt biking, four wheein', shooting, fishing and camping. Support them emotionally (many kids go thru difficult times usually because of the adults in their lives putting themselves and their wants/needs before their kids) Sometimes they just fall victim to such as is common to humankind, such as disease or the loss of a loved one. My wife and I just took in an 11 y.o. that I've been mentoring for several years because his dad and stepmother split up and he had no place to go. While they can at times be exasperating,, all in all they are a blessing and give to this old coot much pleasure. You can see some of the boys I work with on my album over at the castboolits forum. Blessings, Olevern

We've got a flea market not too far from us. I've gotta start checking it out. Nice finds you got there.
