    Bear Skulls

Back from the taxidermist already! John's bear is on the left, mine on the right. Imagine one of these things latching on while snoozing blissfully in the sleeping bag on a camping trip!

    Re: Bear Skulls

They were a tie! The youngster's bear was longer, mine was wider and they each came to 18 2/8.

Weird that the taxidermists/scorers use eighths like that... So, translated for the rest of us 18 1/4" is the sum of the length & width of the skull. Around here, 18" is a pretty good bear. Heck, I thought these guys were GREAT no matter what they measured.

You've got really, truly scary snakes down there Mark. And short-tempered water buffalo. And crocodiles as big as a single-wide trailer... And great white sharks...

Nope, it's a scary place you've got down there, full of scary things!

    Nice skulls!

First time I saw fresh ones, I was surprised how oily they are...the skulls that is.

    Very cool!

Good point. There are rattlesnakes, bears and mountain lions where we hunted for these guys - grizzlies too!
