Military Bases are starting to sell Firearms and Ammunition.

You GI's check your B-extra's and post your findings here.

    This is confirmed.

Re: Military Bases are starting to sell Firearms and Ammunition.

Been selling at Camp LeJeune and Camp Pendleton for years, in fact the guns and ammo section is in the back of lawn & garden at Pendleton, and when I was there last year, some of the ammo had great prices on them.

My Dad said when he was in (back in the 50's) a military officer could act as an FFL. In other words they could ship and receive firearms directly. I never have figured out how we can be trusted to take firearms into combat but have to go to through a civilian/state system to get proper license & training to purchase a firearm.

Puget Sound Naval Shipyard sold guns years ago at the Exchange. Haven't been there in years so don't know if they still do or not.

    Chapnelson,
Back before the 196? gun control act anyone could receive a firearm through the mail.
My brother shipped me a Rem. 7MM mag that he bought in Okinowa in the early 60's and I bought an M1 Carbine through the Director of Civiliam Marksman through the NRA also in the early 60's both shipped right to my door!

Hip, thanks. Yeah I wish I knew what Dad was talking about. I waste a lot of time at HPD everytime I trade a gun, and fill out reams of paperwork ... standing there, in uniform, double expert ...

Jake, for the list, no base on HI sells: not pearl, not hickam, not schofield, not K-Bay.

Guns purchased from CMP (the new name for DCM) are still shipped to your door. They use UPS now but when I got my last one in '95 I took my 'Oversize Package, Adult Signature Required' notice to the US Post Office and picked it up.

The "Guns and Ammo Coming Soon" sign has been spotted @ the Offutt AFB Exchange. Once they get some in I'll try and post some prices for comparison...
