Happy Birthday to me.
First we went to dinner with mom, my brother and his wife. Then my wife gave me a brand new Leupold Rifleman 3x9 scope.
That was Monday evening the 14th. Not quite my birthday which is the 15th. I told my brother I would be unavailable to work as I was going out to open the bow season here on my birthday. I have had so many injuries I have been unable to even shoot one practice arrow. I figured, just get closer and if something came by, surely I could pull my bow one time. I went out at 3:00pm to hang a stand and stay for the evening hunt. I had been out to watch the field near where I hunt on Sat. and knew this guy and others were in the area. He came in at 7:26 at about 6 yards and turned sideways. Could not ask for better. Ran about 80 yards. He is my 100th bow kill and on my birthday no less. He about killed us getting him out though. I am 5'8" and weigh 200#. He was bigger than me by a bunch. Should of bought a lottery ticket that day. Rick
