    Marlin 1893 value ?

    Hi,
I've found a Marlin 1893 in 38-55 cal. but he price is about 850 USD. The mechanical is ok but there is a little part of wood broken , internal barrel is little rusted. Do you think it's the good price ? ( considering there isn't lot of marlins in France).
    Thanks

    Marlin 1893 value ?

Chris it does not sound like a great buy here, because of the wood and the barrel interior. However, there is a premium when they are hard to find (which sounds like the case in France for any 1893). So it depends on you for this one.

    Marlin 1893 value ?

No there are quite a few around, I see some at every show. Currently I have seven 1893's, 38-55, 32special, 30-30, 2 in 32-40, and 2 in 25-36. I am starting to trade some and replace them with deluxe models, which are harder to find and a lot more exspensive. As you can see 1893 is one of my favorite models.

    Marlin 1893 value ?

Here in America the model 1893 is probably a bit more common, but nice ones are still a bit tougher to find, and the .38-55 is probably the most desireable.
Hard for me to say what they might be worth there.

    Marlin 1893 value ?

    Hi,
Finally i don't buy it because i can see that the was repolished in the past and re bleuing with some little hole of rust under, i also found that the marks are just readable. It's a pity.
I hope found an other. I put an announcement in the newspaper to tell " i buy olds Marlins" with models names.
