Which is Bigger, the 45-70 or........?

I guess the Big Bore forum has now been relegated to ?? since every single cartridge has or is getting its own niche. (I'm still waiting for a forum for the real, the original, the old Marlin and Ballard Big bores. )

Anyway, since this forum is just Big Bores now but nothing really fits, I guess it won't be off-topic to compare the 45-70, (a Marlin chambering) to something that isn't so small, (a non-Marlin chambering, but maybe Wild West will change that for us! )

    Here you go:

800 plus grains of 50 caliber BMG along side 385 grains of 45-70 and powder and case!!!

    50

So, how much of the trace material is still left in the base of that 50?

Golsovia.. the Collectors touch on them ( the old ballard and odd by modern standard calibers. ) more than anyone in BB ever did..
The BB is for just what you did.. the mostly OT stuff related to BB as it was mostly that .. and the specific fourms for their respective calibers.. wether is works out or not time will tell.. but for now its in the trying stage..
