I'm not too much for store bought anything when I think I can make it out of wood. I have made dozens of things around the house including my reloading bench with cabinets, gun cabinet, furniture, benches, picture frames, crosses, etc. I made this gun cleaning box in maybe 2002 and ended up making them for my son, brothers and a few friends. It isn't difficult to do ... here are some pictures ...
Overall dimensions are 22"x 12" by 7" tall ... this is the front ...
This is the back and side view. I wanted rope handles ... that was a must have ...
Under the top, I made a place to store the ends that hold the guns in place ...
The inside dividers are actually a one piece assembly that can be removed for cleaning ...
With my SC in place ...
I keep a repair box with all of my parts/tools handy during cleaning and range time ...
Here are some pictures of other things I have made...
I draw and woodburn too ...
very nice work, I like cleaning box.

Hey there buddy - great stuff. I wish I had the skill to do that kind of woodwork. Mine is kind of rough (if ya know what I mean). I've just started on a sheriff's rack but without the right tools it's kind of hard to make it look really good.
That gun cleaning box is a great idea, especially like the rope handles and the self-storing gun stands.
Doug, you are a man of many talents! I'm a sucker for woodworking projects, and finally have my wood shop set up the way I want it. Band saw, table saw, drill press, belt sander, and several workbenches that I built. Nothing gets me more excited than thinking of a project to build, working out the details in my head, then finding out I have the wood on hand to build it. I don't make masterpieces, but I sure do make a lot of sawdust!
