Gambrel to hang up deer and hogs.

I left my really nice one out at the place I used to hunt at, so I got some scrap steel and re-bar and cut it up with a cutting torch, and crudely pieced it together. I was going to TIG weld it and make it look all nice and pretty but I decided that if it was going to get all bloody and rusty, no point in trying to make it look nice. I tacked everything together and ran a pass with a 1/8 Lincoln 6010 P5+, and then covered them with a Lincoln Excalibur 3/32nd 7018. I don't think she's coming apart anytime soon. Not as pretty as some of the pipe I've been welding in the 1G rotated, 2G and 5G positions these past few months but hey... it works!

Looks good to me. I'll take functionality over beauty any day. Design is good and welds look strong. What more do you need?

I'm just a bit of a perfectionist, and I'm pretty good at TIG, but I figured I would also have to hook up my rig, if the Argon bottle was empty I'd have to change it out and had a limited amount of time, and then like you said... functionality over beauty. Overall I'm pretty happy though... in the future I may do one right, saw cut everything so it's nice and square, maybe make the center piece with the hooks all one piece, and clamp it all down so everything is straight and square and TIG it.

Welding was a good trade for me, besides gambrels, now you need to make some sand spikes for the fishing poles, anchors for the boats, target stands, and all the rest of the outdoor gear a guy needs LOL!
Nothing expresses Liberty more than, the report of a rifle shot fired in the defense of Freedom.

Planning on it. Gotta find a good job to save up the money first though.... I thought next year I would be moving to Tallahassee, FL but now it seems I may be staying in Houston after a few series of events that took place this morning. I guess we'll have to see.
