Loading gate problem on my Ranch Hand

Well yesterday I had a problem dog messing with the animals and I grabbed my Ranch Hand out of the truck to solve it. Afterwards, I went to pop another shell into it and discovered the loading gate on the barrel end was actually sticking out of the reciever slightly and sunken in on the buttstock end of the gate. I tried to push it back in and couldn't get it to move. Finally got a nylon rod and a small hammer and popped it back in and it's working right now. Wondering if anyone has had this problem. I hate to send it back to Rossi but I don't need a repeat of that problem. I'm not sure if they would send me a new loading gate or if I could modify the current one to catch like it should. I'm about to order a few things from steve young including the dvd kit so I need to figure somethin out before I start working on it.
