    1897 Cowboy

Well, my 2 month search for an 1897 Cowboy ended tonight. I located and won a NIB 1897 cowboy. It will go great with the 1894 .45Colt Cowboy I purchased about a month ago.

I'm affraid I'm done for the year though. Oh well there's always 2012. Back to looking for blued, steel S&W revolvers next year.

No. The 1897 Cowboy is a .22 cal. 24" octagonal barrel with straight hand grip stock. As far as I can research it was only made for about 2 years from 1999-2000 or 2001. As i assume you know the 1895 Cowboy is a 45-70.

From what I've seen on a web search it looks like a 39 with the oct. barrel. Is that right?

    Re: 1897 Cowboy

I know where an 1897 is located but the lady wanted $750.00 for it and it was not in collector shape. The day I found it I purchased my model 37A series D for much less but I would have loved to taken home the 1897 if it would have been in better shape.
