I bought a 1894 marlin .45 long colt at big 5. It has a ROUND barrel I always see it on line with octogon barrel did I buy a, cheap verison?
I just wanted to know. I still love it, it's a great gun. I shot a bowling pin at 150 yards at the same time my brother had his AR-15 trying to hit it I beat him to it.
Does it have a walnut or birch stock?

I think they do special runs for the discount stores to differentiate it from the gun shops so as not to tick off someone. Nothing wrong with a round barrel. It's a great gun.

Haven't seen those at Big 5 for quite some time in that caliber. Cool. I had one in 357, if it was a 45 Colt I would probably still have it. Except for the plain Jane stocks it was a fine Marlin.
I currently have an 1894 CB with a 20" octagonal barrel - aesthetically pleasing and a good shooter. Cycles everything from overly long 1.660" Keith style SWC to .454" round balls stuffed deeply into the case, without a hitch. Shoots 250 - 315 grain bullets VERY well. I suspect yours will too.

I bought one a few months ago that was originally from Big 5, it doesn't have the "S" suffix on the barrel, it just says "1894". It had a stained birch stock but I swapped that for a nice walnut stock instead. Incidentally the round barrel models seem to be a lot less common than the Cowboys.

Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape.
YEAH THAT HER, WHERE CAN I GET A nice walnut stock LIKE THAT!!!!!!!!
Thats the same gun I have.....but the cowboy version looks pretty snappy too!

Nice! I'm saving up for an 1894 in .45 Colt, I am hoping when the time comes I can find a round barrel plain jane or "S" so this is good to know!
