Half-height Vault?

I've been considering a Console Vault from you guys for quite a while, but I don't know if I want to have the entire console taken up by the vault. My vehicle is an '03 F-250 and would use this vault: Ford F250 Super Duty Floor Console Cover: 2000 - 2010

How much does it reduce the interior volume? How much room is between the top of the console vault and the lid of the console to just drop stuff on top of there if I want to put something down real quick?

I'm wondering I'd have enough room to just drop things on top of the normal vault, or if you guys make a half-height vault or something small I can bolt into my console. Thanks!
