Has anyone here put a peep sight on a Camp 9?
For the range that these rifles are typically used, I think a good receiver sight would be perfect. Simple, rugged, accurate, and no batteries.
Does anyone know if the Williams sights for other Marlins (1894, 336,1895, etc) will fit the Camp 9? What about the Skinner sight? I really like the looks of it but it looks kind of high for the stock front sight.
Yes, I have a Williams Fool Proof on mine. Williams makes one for the 9 (FP-M9). You will still have to go with a higher front sight. Go to www.williamsgunsight.com and you will be able to find the right height front sight needed. I had several thousants milled off of the bottom of my sight where it sits on the receiver but still had to use a higher front sight to get bullets in the bull. It is relatively fast, even quicker if you take the aperture out and use it as a ghost ring. Even so, I'm still thinking of going to one micro dot sights like the Bushnell or Jpoint. If you go with a Williams you will probably need to cut a notch in your stock for clearance, I had to.. The Skinner wouldn't need this, but I didn't know about Skinner sights when I put the Williams on mine.
Thanks for the reply Mokwaw. Did you have to drill and tap the side of the receiver to mount the Foolproof? I am looking for a sight that will mount on top of the receiver, using the existing holes.
No drill and tap. Sight uses the rear 2 holes for scope mount on top of the receiver.
