i hope that you will be alright.i would see the doctor.safety is key in anything you do.

I hope you are ok Doc. The eyes are very important body part. They are one thing I would want to fall off of me last!
Tman ive seen that pic of you before. It reminded me of my welding days. I dont think it's overkill. Hot molten metal rolling across your skin is no fun!

Hey Doc,
Prayer sent, and hope you heal up quick. Most good eye docs, will work out a payment plan.
Hazard a guess, a drop of your own sweat, may have triggered "explosion". The least bit of water, when casting/smelting, is disaster.

I hope you heal up nicely Doc.
I had a shard of steel jump up under my safety glasses while cleaning slag off a weld. I had to get the steel removed and the rust drilled out. Missed the cornea by 2mm.
I guess I'm lucky Canada has Healthcare because I was working in a small shop and there's no way they would have had an insurance plan.

Doc ... hate to hear it and here's hope for a speedy recovery for you. You probably should get on over to the eye doctor Doc.

Day 2 and my eye sight is returning to normal, I woke up the last 2 days with the crusty eye but that was how they heal. The swelling is down and I am able to see with the reading glasses again so its easier to type now. I still cant figure out what happened.... It was cool so no sweating, I had just put in the paraffin wax and it started to smoke before catching on fire. I got a face full of smoke and i backed up a little bit and while taking off the glasses I put the mold down on the table at my left, cleared the smoke from my eyes and when I opened them thats when I got hit in the left eye. I went out today and stood where I was standing and there was no way that the piece came from the pot. It must have come from the mold that I set down... I guess I am just lucky it didn't hit my cornea, it was off to the right a little towards my nose and up a bit (I was looking down and to the left when it hit) The wife said today that I will have to wear my safety glasses under a face shield from now on to make sure this never happens again. I kind of think she is right and will do that. My sight is nothing I want to loose.
