It's cool looking, but not very flexible and at at that price I can't find much to commend it over anything else. I think for the money there are better choices in the 5.56mm club. The factory open sights are an abomination and it doesn't do anything but run cleaner. The magazine situation IS an issue if they won't drop free, and at eight pounds empty I can't get too excited. Not sure if you saw this review, but the writer makes some good points. He gave it three stars out of five simply because it worked.
Gun Review: Benelli MR1 Tactical Rifle | | The Truth About GunsThe Truth About Guns
"The gun has been called the great equalizer, meaning that a small person with a gun is equal to a large person, but it is a great equalizer in another way, too. It insures that the people are the equal of their government whenever that government forgets that it is servant and not master of the governed." (Ronald Reagan)

One of the bloggers in that review said, "2 inch groups at 100 yards ain't gonna cut it!" I hate to tell him the reviewer actually said 2 inch groups at 50 yards, now that was probably with iron sights, but there you are... If people are going to get all loopy over a clean gas system, why not just get a VZ-58?
