    Rock River Arms availability info.

I have had my dealer looking for a 458 Socom and he said none of his distributors had them. I called another dealer and he told me the same thing. I finally called RRA and the salesman told me that they do not sell thru distributors. He said they only sell directly to dealers. He told me to decide what I wanted in a gun, and my dealer (someone with an FFL) would have to place the order. I just thought some of you might like to know. By the way they are not even running the 458's right now. They said there was a 45 to 60 day wait, as they were backordered. thats when I decided to bid on an upper on GB. There are several uppers and complete guns there by the way if anyone is interested in getting one, that seems like the best alternative for now.

Were you looking for a complete rifle or just an upper? Curious because I almost ordered an upper from RRA and it looked like you could order it right online from RRA (not a .458, a standard 5.56mm or 6.8mm.)

I was asking about a complete gun. I never specifically ask her about a upper. I just ask about the 458's and she put me on hold a minute and when she came back she told me 45 days to 60 days backorder. the uppers ma be available, but if they are she never mentioned it. I found a upper on GB that had 20 rounds thru it and I got a box of new Starline brass ( plus the 20 once used cases) and a set of Hornady dies for $635.00 so there are some deals out there you just gotta keep lookin and get lucky. I sure am happy with the deal I got.

Re: Rock River Arms availability info.

The guy that had it said he bought it as an experiment. Said he uses an AR at work and thought he might like it to hunt with. But he said he already had a 308 bolt gun he had been using for years that would do long and short range work and decided he just didn't need a short range gun so he decided to just keep his 308. He also said ammo was high. I am not sure why really, once you buy the cases, primers and powder will be the same as loading anything else and I know there are some .458 Jacketed bullets that are not to expensive, some are even offered in bulk. I guess I will find out.?
