help me out with this ammo??
Ok guys, a buddy of mine passed away a while back. His wife is having me go through the ammo and stuff. I have some 5.56 Lake City 07 FMJ with white tips?? Is this tracer? I have tried a google search and came up with nothing.

I checked my COW#11 and can't find any reference to white-tipped ammo either, but I suspect it may be frangible Ball. It's not Tracer ammo, that's all got red tips, from what I can find out. Pulling a bullet might tell you more than anything else.
You'd think there would be plenty of info on Lake City '07, wouldnt ya?

I was thinking it may be day light tracer ammo. I think I'm going to go out and shoot a few rounds and see. There is some of the green tip SS209, and some red tip tracer. I might try and get out tomorrow and pull the trigger on a few and see.

I love shooting tracers. It's too bad they cost as much as they do, I can burn through a full mag is a few seconds. I bet you could scare the bejeezus out of coyotes at night!
