Graphic eagle vs pronghorn photos

Pretty graphic. Sent to me in an e-mail, supposed to be in Wyoming. Interesting stuff.







I always figured an eagle could take a pronghorn or a small deer.

Possibly/Probably gunshot first?

I've read that this is actually fairly common - particularly when there is some ice and snow on the ground and the antelope or deer can't run as well. The eagles will attack, sometimes solo, sometimes as a pair. They don't need their prey to be wounded first.

I sure hadn't ever seen photos of it before though.

Yeah, hipshot, golden eagles were hunted. My H.S. out west was the "Eagles," and we had a 'local' golden eagle (stuffed) in the trophy display case all the while I was there. It was put there 'round about the time that H.S. building was built (early 1960s), IIRC.

Yep M700 that's hard to look at. Makes me think how easy I got it. Warm dry house, Hot&cold water... guns to do my bidding for me:biggrin:.
