    Powder Availability.

Is powder available on the mainland? Not a tin to be had here in Tas. And don't try to bring any over on the "Spirit", 7 years in the slammer if the dog sniffs ya.

Yes still available at some shops, but not my local gun shop. Had to drive to the other side of Brisbane to get what I wanted, and they had heaps, so I don't know what's going on with that disparity.

No problem up here Mark, I was actually in QGE (wollies) this arvo and they had all sorts of ADI and Alliant but no Winchester 748.

I was there checking out their prices prior to their big sale on the weekend, ADi $44.00-20%, Alliant $42.00-20%. And get this, Hornady 44CAL .430 300gnHP XTPs -50PKT $28.50-20%= $45.60 per 100 after discount, not a bad price if ya want 300gns for ya 444.

It didn't look like they had put 30% on to take 20% off. (i just dont trust the Btards). I then went around to Rebel and they are about 5-10% dearer than QGE standard pricing, so a 25% saving on the weekend is worth it if ya want anything.

Website orders will be taken at 20% off regardless of stock levels, 9th-11th Aug Qld Gun Exchange.

Sorry mate i know this dosen't help ya problem, but its not everyday you get to pay the right price for stuff . you buy the powder and i will shoot it for ya.

About the same, Mark. The big issue is new transport regulations and the transport companies just about need armoured trucks and bunkers to store the stuff. The maximum to be carried otherwise is 10kg.

I have a deal going with my LGS.. Whenever I am going to be in Brisbane visiting rellies, I have him order 10kg from Nioa, and I transport it, and take what I want at cost price.

That ADI powder is kinda over in your part of the planet, isn't it?
We're not seeing anything over here. Maybe just a can or two on store shelves. But I've had instant notifications from 3 different web suppliers on W748, IMR4198, IMR4895, Varget, 2400, H322 & H335 with nothing for at least 6 months now. Natchez did come through with H110 for the 94 44mag about 2 months ago. There was a discussion way back about if the ammo makers use the same powders we buy. I think they do, others think they have their own special blends. If that's the case, how come they're not producing some of those off the shelf brands anywhere?
Look at a wolf, look at a deer, look at a human, look at a black bear. The 30-30 was designed to be the most efficient caliber to down any of them within the range you would most commonly encounter such creatures.

Hey Hal. You do see ADI powder, you just don't know it. It's sold there in the U.S.A. as"Hodgdon". The sad thing is, you can buy it cheaper there than we can and it's made here.

Well after all the blah blah blah on powder at QGE i went there this morning to get three diferent types and guess what, out of stock except for Reloder7, no ADI powder in 2207, 2219,2206h, 2208 which were all avilable wed. afternoon. Then they tried to scamm me out of the 20% discount because there is only 10% on backorders. As the sale had only been on for 1 1/2 hours and it goes for three days, how much powder did they have?

Isn't it strange how we can get ALLIANT (American produced) powder here in AUS. and cant get our own produced A.D.I. powder. Mabee A.D.I. are busy supling America with HOGDON (ADI) over there.

After letting them know i wasen't happy, i got the 20%, but had to pay up front on the back orders and the stock might be in the store in 2 weeks. I guess it is what it is, just another sales ploy to get us tight arses in their store.
