uberti 1873 win- Am I just cheap?

Man, I really like those Ubert 1873 Win repros! I was looking at the brush popper and the short sporting rifle. But it just chaps my hide that they want $1250 for these guns. Does that seem like a lot or am I being cheap? I mean, I could get a really nice semi-custom muzzleloader for almost as much!

Your not cheap thats a hefty price tag, you could get a lot of things for that much, like a couple nice used JM stamps

Its called inflation, and one of the reasons guns have always been a good long term investment.
An alleged statement....no clue as too the veracity....

I bought a 66 20 inch round barrel for $900 last fall from Taylor's. Its a 44-40 Too. I use it for cowboy shooting mostly and I'll be the first to say that it is worth the money. With the lack of quality in the new marlins, I am happy to pay more and get more value.

For sure nothing is all that bad about any thing made by Uberti at present. I am not sure its a fact, but the rumor was, that some of the later Colt S.A. guns were in fact, mostly Uberti parts and assembled here. And that many of the 1911 clone frames, all are made in P.I.

Imported guns have been with us a long time, and will continue to be with us. And that prices continue to rise, as well. I recall paying 225 (new) for a Colt Series 70 around 1977 and thinking that guns simply could not keep going up, and folks buying them. Wish I had a truckload at that price now.

That price does chap one's rear end. Pietta can make a great C&B 58 Remmy and Cabela's sells it retail for less than 200 bucks. Yet Uberti insists on selling their procucts for the max price, when they could go for less and they would make a greater profit through sheer volume.

That is more than I recently paid for this original black powder frame Colt Model P SA in .44-40, which Colt letter states was made in 1886. It is in great mechanical condition, accurate and a hoot to shoot (pun intended) with black powder. I would like a 73 Winchester replica to go with it, but not at those outrageous prices.
