Hey Gunner I almost Joined Team 450

OK Guys, the good news is that a buddy of mine will be a team 450 member very soon. Here is the story. ATF released some seizure guns to be sold buy a LGS for for an estate. A friend whose safe is too full for another gun calls me, knowing that I have been known to purchase a Marlin Rifle or two, and says the LGS has a new in box ported guide gun chambered in 450 marlin for..............$350!!!!! I instantly call the LGS and they hold the gun for me till I get off work.

My buddy has been looking for a ported guide gun, he doesn't have any marlin levers, so I call him and give him first option on the gun. After work, I go straight to the LGS and sure enough its exactly what I expect, A new in box ported guide gun vintage 2000 (ser # 00.... and jm stamped barrel). Anyways, my buddy bought the gun and we'll be shooting it next Monday after it gets out of Kalifornia lock up. I'll post up a photo for you all when we shoot it.

I'm sure thats the last time i'll see a new ported marlin of either caliber for that price!

The kicker of the whole thing was that I was looking through the seizure guns and came across a NIB high grade Browning 1886 that I just couldn't pass up. Spent alot more money, but that was one awesome piece of steel!

Now Mike, I appreciate you posting this here and I'm glad your buddy is going to become a Team 450 member..... My hestitation for applauding your action is from the fact that you know how much I like em and you didn't call me first!

That is an incredible deal your buddy got, new in box, 1st year 1895M. Recently watched one NIB 2000 1895M with nice wood go for for over $1,000.

You did him a huge favor.......... just saying.

Hey Czechdogg, your friend scored big! I'm in Northern CA, and my local shops are so small, I never see cool deals like that!

Sorry about the delay getting pics up. Here's a few from a couple of weeks ago. We shot some factory Hornady 350 gr jacketed flat nose through it and it shot real nice. Matt was absolutely pleased with the accuracy out of the box at both 50 and 100 yards. We sent alot of big rounds down range that day between the .450 and the 45-70's.
