Can anyone tell me what an 1895M 450 Marlin carbine would be worth approximately? I have a chance to pick one up but don't want to pay more than value. The seller said they are scarce in the carbine version. 16" barrel. 98% overall condition Thanks in advance, by the way I love this site, made 2 purchases so far.
Howdy, the 1895M came with an 18.5" barrel, some ported but most not. There were no factory 1895M's with a shorter barrel. These are "not" scarce however they are no longer manufactured. They were first made available starting in 2000 and the last one was built in North Haven in November, 2010 just before Marlin moved the factory. Remington chose to not start that line back up after the move.
You can check them out on Gun Broker however they typically run between $450-$600. I bought my 2000 model earlier this year for $450.
Best of luck,

No 16" barrels made that I know of! Someone must have chopped it down. 16" is a Trapper style barrel. 20" is carbine length.

I agree. I bought mine for $400 with only 2-4 shells through it. Guy couldn't take its awesomeness! The final thought will be how much is it worth to you.

No 16" barrels. The 450 is always worth $450 for some reason. If its premo, I'd go $500.
I just paid 550.00 for a 2007 model NIB from a local dealer.
I hope you're a handloader? 450 Marlin ammo is already scarce and since the guns have been discontinued, the ammo situation won't get any better.
I got mine like new for $325 dollars on another forum.
