Bestlever, THAT is a SWEET looking revolver. Are those factory grips or after market Houge types? And at the risk of being redundant, the BFR can take any factory 45-70's the Marlin's can take, Buffalo Bore, Garrett ect..?

Hello Riflemen-OK, someone here has it in their mind to buy one of these BFR4570's. But you keep putting it off for one reason or the other and that's a mistake in this case. There may be 3 or 4 of you here reading this. And until you get yourself down to the 'shootin iron' store and buy one of these you'll never feel right or reach your dutiful full potential as a rounded Rifleman. Now I'm trying to help you but I can't do it all. But speaking from experience I can tell you that you "MUST" move on this sooner rather than later and give us a report on how you've grown as an individual!!! so please think on this for your own sake and fulfill your potential. To someone here these words will ring true and you'll know it. good luck. Life is good, BestLever

Bud's was out of them (like everything else) but they have them right now, $831 delivered for either the 10" or the 7.5".
EDIT: MR doesn't specifically say which cartridges are acceptable, but does mention any factory loaded standard ammo. The same gun is also chambered in 454 Casull (50,000 CUP) and 460 S&W Magnum (65,000), so the assumption could be made that it'll certainly handle loads much greater than the minimal trapdoor loads.

When you buy your 45-70 or 450 Marlin in BFR,you have the choice to have it fitted with a .450 Marlin cylinder or a 45-70 cylinder in other words, they are interchangeable. You can shoot a cylinder full of 450 Marlin then swap cylinders to the 45-70.Soooo.What does that tell you about the pressure?Yes,like the modern Marlin, the BFR in 45-70 will take 450 Marlin pressures.
As fa as the accuracy goes,I can't hardly hit the broad side of a barn without a scope anymore and pistols are hard for me to be accurate with except the BFR..This was at 30 paces/maybe 25-30 yards standing with the BFR and 420 Cast at 1560 fps.

It's not a peashooter!
Big calibre= Big bullets
And if you find 45-70 is not enough for you, you can have the chamber reamed to 45-90.

Does this mean you can take a single shot on a grizzly hunt because now you have a backup gun that means something. Boy I bet it is a really dillybuster to shoot that one. Guess I am going to have to go look at one. How big do you have to be before it quits knocking you down.![]()
