    The Rifleman's home town

Was watching an old episode of "The Rifleman" when I learned something that surprised me. The show is set in the town of North Fork, New Mexico. In this episode a stranger came to visit McCain, but claimed to have mutual friends from his original hometown of Enid, Oklahoma. Probably don't mean much to most of ya'll, but I live about 35 miles north of Enid. Matter of fact, most of you younger guys won't even know who the hell Lucas McCain is, or why a lot of us older guys like big loops on our levers...aj

Enid? Yep, used to travel through there from Denver on our way to Tulsa to visit my Grandparents.

You're right AJ. I wouldn't miss a show whenever possible. I alwasy liked the first part of the show when he was fireing the rifle real fast. Younger generation needs some heroes like that today . Or is that what is wrong with us ?

Real name is Chuck Connors. Good episode on Encore Western the other night when a rattlesnake crawled in the bedroll with him..Great tricks with that large lever loop. Not bad for a young guy born in '69

Ah. I'm 16 but I watch the show here and there when its on. I found out how he gets his gun to cycle so fast to. Theres a hole drilled and tapped in the lever in front of the trigger, and the screw is adjusted to where if he constantly cycles the lever when the lever closes the gun fires. If he wants to take single shots and pull the trigger, you unscrew the screw a little bit. Not sure if thats true, but thats what I read.
